Local Plan

I have been really busy lately, garden club shows and coach trips to visit gardens etc. So much to do in the garden and on the allotment.
But like others I have also been following the Westwood housing trail including the meeting at Manston and the site planning meeting. I am fed up with the excuse 'Local Plan'. OK so it took 4 years to be completed but that was years ago, since then Westwood retail has been built. The councillors standing there could see the traffic that has been created since the 'Local Plan' was agreed. Is it set in stone? They can live in cloud cuckoo land if they want but people still won't walk, cycle or use buses, they will use cars and the centre of Thanet is not the place for more cars. The western outskirts are prepared for it, especially with the new East Kent Road so just change the 'Local Plan'.

There are serious traffic problems there. Its only going to get worse. The transport assessment shows that even if the developers put in their prefered traffic changes, the pressure on the Pearce Signs development will still be way over capacity.

Is it me or does the proposed Westwood Estate look kind of like Newington...
